PUBLIC NOTICE

PSA from Mayor Robert Bowen

Dear Residents,

As I was driving around the city today, I noticed the majority of citizens were following city code. However, I did notice multiple violations concerning parking and placing snow in already plowed driving lanes. As winter weather continues, I want to remind everyone of important city code requirements regarding snow removal to help keep our streets clean and safe.

Residential snow removal – City Code 19.1(d)

  • Snow from residential driveways, sidewalks, or parkways used for off-street parking may be placed up to four (4) feet from the curb into the street only before city plows begin clearing the street.
  • Once plowing has started, snow must be pushed to the center berm created by the plows until that berm is removed.
  • At all other times, snow must not be placed in the street beyond the gutter.

City staff has been instructed to not clean the same street twice for the same snow event in an effort to save money to go towards future street repairs.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our community safe during snow events. I would be happy to answer any questions or address any concerns. I can be reached by email (rbowen@kemmerer.org) or by phone at (254)-223-3204.

Thank you,

Mayor Robert Bowen
