Recreation

The Kemmerer Community Recreation Center offers year around fitness and a variety of recreational opportunities. The center houses four racquetball courts, a basketball court, indoor track, weight room, whirlpool, sauna and steam room, and several pieces of exercise equipment.

Swimming Pools - The indoor pool located at the high school has specific hours set aside for lap swimming, open swimming and senior swim. During the summer months an outdoor pool located in Archie Neil Park is an ideal spot for parents to relax in the shade while children swim. Swimming lessons for all ages are offered.

Golf Course - The Kemmerer Municipal Golf Course is a challenging nine hole course set near the Ham's Fork River. Several benefit tournaments are conducted throughout the summer.

Parks - Kemmerer and Diamondville maintain numerous sports and recreational facilities. Archie Neil Park offers tall shade trees, BBQ grills and picnic tables, outdoor pool, playground, tennis courts, basketball court, and fireplace for campfire programs. Diamondville Town Park offers a playground, BBQ grills and a covered pavilion with tables. Miners Memorial Park commemorates the miners of the area. It has picnic tables and BBQ grills. Lions Club Park is located just a few miles north of Kemmerer on the Ham's Fork River. It has two playgrounds, a fitness trail, two covered picnic pavilions and numerous individual BBQ-picnic sites. Near the Kemmerer Municipal Golf Course is a baseball complex with five fields with lighting and fan seating and plays host to the community Little League Baseball program. In 1996, Kemmerer has two state winning teams with the girls program. Kemmerer Children's Fishing Pond offers excellent fishing for kids along with picnic and BBQ facilities.

Reservoir - Lake Viva Naughton/Kemmerer Reservoir is located north of Kemmerer on Highway 233 and offers excellent fishing all year round.

Snowmobile Trails - Wintertime offers the thrill of snowmobiling in the high country. There are approximately 70 miles of groomed trails and over 100 miles of ungroomed trails offering breathtaking views just a few miles from town.

Cross County and Downhill Skiing - Choose cross country trails right out your back door on the surrounding hills or enjoy the greenway of the golf course which is open for skiing during the winter. Get away for a weekend of world class downhill skiing at resorts close by in Jackson Hole or in Park City, Utah.
