CHAPTER 26 ARTICLE A - TELEPHONE UTILITIES

    SECTION 26-1. There is hereby imposed, pursuant to Wyo. Stat.  16-9-101, et seq., (1977, as amended), upon all telephone exchange access facilities within the City of Kemmerer, State of Wyoming, a monthly uniform emergency telephone charge in the amount of fifty cents ($.50) on each local exchange access line within this City.

    SECTION 26-2.

    The emergency telephone charge is in all other respects to be governed, determined, regulated and expended in accordance with Wyo. Stat.  16-9-101, et seq., (1977, as amended), and the applicable rules, regulations or orders of the Wyoming Public Service Commission lawfully adopted or issued by said Commission.

    SECTION 26-3.

    Telephone service suppliers providing telephone service in the City of Kemmerer, County of Lincoln, State of Wyoming, are hereby authorized to collect the emergency telephone charge imposed by this ordinance in accordance with said statute, applicable Commission regulations and Section 26-5 of the Kemmerer City Code.

    SECTION 26-4.

    This ordinance shall not be effective until the governing bodies of the Towns of Afton, LaBarge, Opal, Diamondville, Cokeville, Thayne and Alpine, Lincoln County, Wyoming, shall approve, adopt and enact an ordinance in substantial conformity with this ordinance, imposing said emergency telephone charge upon telephone exchange access facilities within each of said city or towns in an amount equal to that imposed by this ordinance.

    SECTION 26-5.

    Collection of said emergency telephone charges within the City of Kemmerer, Wyoming, shall commence at such time as the governing body of the City of Kemmerer shall designate by resolution, in accordance with W.S.  16-9-104(c), and shall continue in effect for one (1) calendar year from said date unless re-adopted or re-established by resolution of said governing body in accordance with said statute.

    SECTION 26-6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its publication and shall be implemented in accordance with Sections 26-4 and 26-5.
