    Kemmerer truly is the fossil fish capital of the world.

    Known as the "Fossil Basin," the area is so abundant in fossil fish that anyone can not only see, but actually unearth innumerable amazing and unique examples at any of the Kemmerer area's commercial quarries, or at Fossil Butte National Monument.

Kemmerer Clean Up Week!

The City of Kemmerer's Clean-Up Week will be Tuesday, June 11 through Friday, June 14!


  • Accepted clean-up items will be picked up on your regular scheduled trash pickup day, except Mondays.
  • If your scheduled pickup day is Monday your clean-up items will be picked up on Wednesday, June 12, 2013.
  • All clean-up items must be at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your scheduled pickup day. If it is not, you run the risk of being missed and the City will not have the extra time to go back and pick up missed clean-up items.
  • This will not affect your normal trash pickup.
    Yard clippings should be bagged in plastic bags.
    All branches should be securely bundled.
    Vehicles should not be parked near the clean-up items.
